CAT Exam Pattern 2016 - Syllabus, Marking, Question Type

CAT 2017 Exam Pattern - CAT or Common Admission Test 2017 will be conducted in one day in two sessions on Sunday, November 29, 2017. This year IIM Ahmedabad is the conducting body for CAT. As per IIM Ahmedabad, the CAT 2017 exam pattern has been changed entirely.

Compared to last year, where the total duration of the exam was 170 minutes and the candidates were allowed to switch between the two sections. This year the pattern has been changed entirely. As per the new CAT Exam Pattern 2017, the total duration of the exam has been increased to 180 minutes or three hours, with total 100 questions to be answered. Candidates will not have the liberty to attempt any of the sections first, rather, they must answer the sections in a pre-specified order, as per the news, which will be same for all the candidates.
The number of Non-MCQs in each section  varies and are not disclosed by the news.

One of the major changes, and also a first time in the history of CAT, candidates will be allowed to use a basic on-screen calculator for calculation. The tutorial, explaining the CAT 2017 Exam Pattern has been launched on October 29, 2017, for the candidates to have a better understanding of the changed pattern, and the procedures to be followed at the time of CAT 2017 exam.

No marks are given or deducted for un-attempted questions.
